Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 2026
1. Who We Are
Toolbit (toolbit.it) is a collection of free, browser-based utility tools. The data controller for the purposes of this policy is the site operator. You can contact us at nikano1991@gmail.com.
2. What Data We Collect
Toolbit itself does not collect or store personal data on our servers. All tool computations happen entirely in your browser. However, third-party services we integrate may collect data as described below.
3. Cookies & Third-Party Services
We use third-party services that may set cookies in your browser. A full list is available on our Cookie Policy page. The key services are:
Google AdSense (Advertising)
We display ads via Google AdSense (publisher ID: ca-pub-2599287808853668). When you accept cookies, AdSense may set cookies such as IDE, NID, and _gads to serve personalised ads. When you reject non-essential cookies, non-personalised ads are shown instead and no advertising cookies are set. Google processes data according to their Privacy Policy. You can manage your ad preferences at adssettings.google.com.
Firebase Analytics / Google Analytics 4 (Analytics)
We use Firebase Analytics (measurement ID: G-FT76ZGV4S9) to understand which tools are popular. When you accept cookies, it may set cookies such as _ga and _ga_* and collect anonymised information including: pages visited, time on page, browser/device type, and approximate country. Your IP address is not stored. When you reject non-essential cookies, Firebase operates in a cookieless mode and no analytics cookies are set. Google processes data according to their Privacy Policy.
4. Browser Local Storage
Toolbit stores the following preferences in your browser's localStorage. This data never leaves your device and is not shared with anyone:
toolbit-consent— your cookie consent choicetoolbit-lang— your selected display languagetheme— your light/dark mode preference- Tool-specific preferences (e.g. saved favourites in some tools)
5. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)
Where the GDPR applies (e.g. visitors from the European Economic Area), our legal bases are:
- Consent — for advertising cookies and analytics cookies (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw consent at any time (see section 7).
- Legitimate interest — for strictly necessary localStorage entries (theme, language) which require no consent.
6. Your Rights Under GDPR
If you are located in the EEA or UK, you have the following rights:
- Right of access — request a copy of any personal data we hold about you.
- Right to erasure — request deletion of personal data.
- Right to object — object to processing based on legitimate interest.
- Right to data portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format.
- Right to lodge a complaint — contact your local supervisory authority (e.g. the AEPD in Spain, the ICO in the UK).
To exercise these rights, email us at nikano1991@gmail.com. Note that because we do not collect personal data ourselves, most requests will need to be directed to Google directly.
7. Managing & Withdrawing Consent
You can change your cookie preferences at any time by clearing your browser's localStorage (key: toolbit-consent). The consent banner will reappear on your next visit. You can also:
- Use your browser's built-in cookie controls to delete any cookies set.
- Opt out of Google personalised advertising at adssettings.google.com.
- Opt out of Google Analytics at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
8. Data Retention
Analytics data is retained for 14 months in Google Analytics (default GA4 setting). Advertising cookies expire as defined by Google (typically 13 months for IDE, session-based for others). LocalStorage entries persist until you clear them manually.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects when changes were last made.
